Banda ultralarga per la scuola: GARR a Città della Scienza

Dal 9 all’11 ottobre 2014, la dodicesima edizione di “Smart and Education Technology Days – 3 Giorni per la scuola”, l’evento organizzato da Città della Scienza di Napoli ed interamente dedicato alle scuole, vede la presenza di GARR sia nel programma congressuale che con uno stand espositivo dove saranno presentate le iniziative della comunità dell’università e della ricerca per le scuole.

Il 9 ottobre, il seminario organizzato da GARR su "Banda ultralarga per la scuola" sarà l'occasione per discutere sul ruolo della rete e sulle esperienze di successo in corso nelle scuole in Italia. Interverranno, tra gli altri, Alessandra Poggiani, DG dell'AgID e Francesco Luccisano, Capo della Segreteria Tecnica del Ministro Giannini.

Il 10 ottobre il programma di incontri proseguirà con il seminario "Scuole e didattica in rete", in cui verranno presentate le opportunità offerte dal collegamento in fibra alle scuole.

Infine, durante tutta la tre giorni presso lo stand GARR si terranno una serie di incontri, seminari e dimostrazioni con le scuole innovative e con gli enti di ricerca della comunità GARR, tra cui CNR, INGV, INAF, INFN e CINECA che presenteranno contenuti e iniziative per le scuole.

The wildfires in Los Angeles and other extreme events, as well as their media coverage, highlight how immediate causes often overshadow the real issue: climate change, which increases the intensity and frequency of catastrophic phenomena. Tackling this crisis requires urgent action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions using already available technologies and investments to strengthen territorial resilience. Only a combination of mitigation and adaptation can prevent irreversible damage, ensuring a sustainable future for the next generations.

Even in the face of the vast Los Angeles wildfires—still ongoing—as in other recent circumstances, the media's attention is primarily focused on the most immediate and “proximal” causes: the malfunctioning of the power grid, insufficient water reserves, the unpreparedness of newly hired firefighters, and so on.
