The LET’S 2014 Conference will bring together 1000 delegates from private and public research, SMEs, industry and policy in the fields of nanotechnology, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing and processing.

The event will provide valuable opportunities to network, find new partners and collaborations, and keep up-to-date with the cutting-edge research, industrial news and innovation in Europe and beyond.

The main focus of the event is exploring the role of the Key Enabling Technologies in facing the Societal Challenges pinpointed by Horizon 2020.

Together with more than 100 speakers following five thematic tracks, we will explore innovative, cross-cutting points of view at the forefront of European research and technology and will create a vision for a new European Renaissance.

Healthy Lungs for Life: lung health starts with clean air

Gathering support for policies that promote clean air, with particular attention to the EU Directive on air quality being discussed in the coming days: this is the goal of the Healthy Lungs for Life campaign, this year focused on the importance of combating air pollution.

According to the World Health Organization, air pollution is the fourth leading cause of disease and premature death worldwide (after hypertension, smoking, and malnutrition). It is estimated that due to pollution, the European population loses an average of almost one year of life.
